There were times, about 50 years ago, when normal cars accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h or 60 mph in about 22-23 seconds and that was perfectly acceptable for models that did not claim to be sporty. The sport ones were usually under 10 seconds, and if they reached the 8-9 second range, they were downright fabulous. Today Rimac Nevera needed 29 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 400 km/h and brake back to 0 km/h!
The 1,914 hp electric model of the company from Croatia, which also owns Bugatti today, went on a specialized circuit in Germany, called Automotive Testing Papenburg. All the car's performances were professionally measured with two different systems, and tracked by independent third parties, so that the records could be officially approved.
And the list of achieved records is huge and contains 23 positions. Among them are the acceleration of just 1.81 seconds from 0-100 km/h, 4.42 seconds for 0-200 km/h, 9.22 for 0-300 km/h and 21.31 seconds for 0- 400 km/h! In fact, after only 28.96 meters from the starting point, Rimac Nevera is already 100 km/h! You can see the list of records and figures below, in km/h and mph.
According to homologation procedures, Rimac had to repeat its performance several times, in opposite directions, to demonstrate consistency, and the electric model managed to defend these figures brilliantly. Thus, we can officially and documentedly say that the Rimac Nevera is the most high-performance production car of all time.
