We often say that in Japan car culture takes eccentric and incredible forms, some enthusiasts are certainly not limited by the preconception of not damaging the authenticity of some classic cars. On the contrary, they venture into such substantial and deep modifications that they radically and irreversibly change the car and they don't seem to have any remorse for it. An enthusiast from Japan, for example, created a classic Mercedes SLC 450 from 1977, which he equipped with a Toyota Supra engine and Ferrari F40 and F430 brakes.
Thus, this enthusiast took what he considered the best from Japan, Germany and Italy and fused them on one car. He loves the classic design of the Mercedes SLC, and he even looked for very special rims that he wanted and had to create to order because they didn't exist in the size he wanted.
Then again, the Supra's engine is legendary in the way it can be modified to far beyond stock numbers. And the car thus received 400 hp extracted from the Toyota engine!
By the way, the SLC is left-hand drive, being one of the collectible cars from Japan, highly appreciated by collectors. This car was displayed in a Mercedes showroom as an authentic example, and now, after learning about the modifications made, the people in the showroom regret selling it to the current owner.
The most beautiful part of the video is, in addition to exploring the car, together with the owner, the protagonists go out with it for a night walk around Tokyo. Thus, the car reveals itself in its sound, which it emits, but also in its unleashed performance, once the turbine under the hood intervenes and the 400 HP fully materializes.
