We all want to have a space in the house, which is not just a functional room, but a somewhat more isolated one, dedicated only to passions, creativity and spending time in a more unusual way. And if we are still car enthusiasts, then inevitably there will be at least some details or decorations from the car world. Richard Hammond, the famous presenter of Top Gear and then The Grand Tour, has recently revealed what his secret "den" looks like, located next to his main house.
He doesn't necessarily call it a man's land, because he doesn't want to resort to stereotypes, but he says that he often meets with his friends there, sometimes for several days in a row when new ideas and new creative projects are discussed. So his room, with super high ceilings, has a kitchen, and a cooking island, which can turn into a bar, and sofas and armchairs.
The kitchen is complete, with all the necessary attributes, from stove and oven to faucet and refrigerator. Likewise, the island that turns into a bar even has an ice machine.
In this "clubhouse", as Richard also calls it, there are also several superb classic motorcycles from his collection. They are famous models from the history of motorcycles, and they are all functional, so you can take one at a time and go for a ride.
And then, the discussions in a living room where you keep company and so many motorcycles, are always more inspiring.
Next to it there is an additional room with a round table, for more productive discussions. And there is also a huge sofa for relaxation.
Richard says that keeping classic motorcycles in this space is a continuation of history, as his house was bought from a former classic car restorer, and restored jewels were often kept here, as a kind of storage space. Therefore, motorcycles continue the idea and respect for classic vehicles. But above all, this whole house, because that's what it really is, is an absolutely admirable den for any car enthusiast!
