"Who doesn't like a good S13 that hasn't been slammed into a wall while drifting?" — the author below, photographer and cameraman Larry Chen comments on his video. Indeed, this car has been a classic Japanese legend for many years now, and its great advantage of once being an affordable car with rear wheel drive and a powerful engine, which could easily be drifted, turned out to be its great problem, because that was the way most of the S13s were destroyed and are no longer with us. But the ones that are, however, are real pieces of admiration!
The car in the pictures is a Nissan 180SX, the name S13 being the generation code, actually. The 180SX model had a 1.8-liter turbo engine initially, then a 2.0-liter. It was a longitudinally mounted in-line 4-cylinder engine that could be upgraded to higher power if you wanted to make modifications.
The design of the car, however, perfectly embodied the philosophy of Japanese sports cars of that period. Correct proportions, retractable headlights, and if you reduced the ground clearance a bit, you'd get a car that would keep your eyes running after it.
The car below belongs to an enthusiast who modified it a little and discreetly, enough to bring it to a little more power, but still in the same original range, but above all to make it look flawless. This Nissan S13 looks so fascinatingly authentic that you can hardly tell what is original and what has been added to it.
In the end, the owner of the car and the author of the YouTube channel both go out for a spin, where you can hear the sound of the engine, but also the way this classic Japanese model is driven.
See it all in the video below.
