If you're a car enthusiast, what would you like to do when you're 75? A pensioner from South Africa named Barry, owner of a modified Nissan GT-R, has just reached 350 km/h with it on an airport runway that he rented especially for it! And he did it even though when he walks on his own two feet, he needs a crutch.
Barry has a 2012 Nissan GT-R, which he bought standard, but after a few years he got bored with it, so he sent it to the UK to be modified. For half a year, a workshop there made a long list of changes, including changing the pistons, connecting rods, crankshaft and camshafts in the engine, and now the engine is no longer 3.8 liters, but 4.1 liters. The engine has new turbines and a new exhaust, as well as four electronic driving modes. Normally, it develops about 800 hp, but if you partially feed it with ethanol, you can reach 1,200 hp.
And the gearbox had to be modified to cope with the new power, but the modifications were so successful that for 7 years now the pensioner has been operating his Nissan without problems. He says he likes to go fast, and such a car gives him the necessary spice in life.
Well, recently Barry went to an airport to try to hit 350 km/h. The minimum limit he wanted was 322 km/h, which equates to 200 miles per hour. But the pensioner could easily reach 351 km/h (218 mph), and says he didn't even fully press the pedal!
At the end, Barry got out of his car fulfilled and happy, saying that he had fulfilled one of his wishes that he had in his bucket list.
