A Koenigsegg, only 2 years old, with only options ticked over 1 million dollars, now put up for sale as a collector's car

It is rare to talk about a car that is only 2 years old since it was produced as a collector's item. But when a car is as rare as this Koenigsegg Regera, so powerful, so atypical in its color combination, and when only the optional features cost more than 1 million dollars on it, it's as if all the conditions are inevitably gathered for it consider a collector's item. Oh, and on top of that, this car doesn't even have 1,000 miles on its odometer!

In fact, it has 617 miles on it, being a Texas registered car, which equates to 990 km since new. It has barely been tasted by its owner, then!

Koenigsegg Regera is a supercar created by the genius of Cristian von Koenigsegg and his team in Sweden, launched in 2015 and produced between 2016 and 2022, in only 80 copies! The body panels are made of carbon fiber, and the propulsion system is a hybrid one, which includes a 5.0-liter V8 engine and 3 electric motors. Yes, those from Ferrari only later applied such formulas, and Lamborghini just two days ago presented the Revuelto , with 3 electric motors.

And by the way, Koenigsegg's battery is 800V, just like the later Taycan and the latest Hyundai models. So, it can certainly be considered a pearl of visionary engineering.

More than that, in 2019, the Regera set a world record for acceleration from 0 to 400 km/h and back to 0 km/h in just 31.49 seconds, at Rada Airport in Sweden! So, one more reason why this car has already marked an honorable place in history.

It's powered by a V8 engine, as I said, and two of the engines are integrated into the gearbox, while the third is mounted directly on the crankshaft. The car thus remains rear-wheel drive, closer to the classic supercar formula, with the mid-mounted engine.

The propulsion system can deliver 1,500 hp and 2,000 Nm if it uses E85 fuel and a little less if it is fed with regular gasoline. This car, however, had an additional factory performance package, which brought the power to over 1,750 hp.

As I said, the options alone totaled more than 1 million dollars, among them the performance package above, worth more than 250 thousand dollars, the special combination of colors, but also the special rims, which alone cost an extra 57 thousand dollars. Thus, the final selling price of the car was 3.2 million dollars when the order was placed in 2021.

Now the car will be sold at auction and there are about 4 days left until the big moment of the sale. But, the figures of the offers have already reached 2.6 million dollars, and on the last hundred meters the figures can often double. Therefore, the car has every chance to be sold at a nice price, to ensure its owner and a significant profit, after only 2 years from the first purchase.
