This is the Rolls-Royce Spectre, the first production electric model of the British brand

Rolls-Royce announced a year ago that it was preparing an electric model and at the same time reminded the world that it is one of the most entitled brands to do it since the founder of the brand himself, in his early days, experimented with electric mobility. Now, 120 years later, Rolls-Royce is launching the Spectre, the brand's first electric model.

This is a large two-door coupe with typical Rolls-Royce design, even if you want a car from another era. Its creators promise that the new model will first be a Rolls-Royce and only then an electric car, suggesting that all the qualities established and admired in other models of the brand will be preserved here.

In terms of design, the new model adopts the same style as the BMW i7, with small upper LEDs in place of the normal headlights, and the function of the headlights is taken over by the background optical blocks, positioned below. In fact, the new model also took over much of the technology from the BMW model, naturally.

However, the British announce that the Rolls-Royce Specter will have a platform built from aluminum, to compensate for the almost 700 kg weight of the batteries. Even with the use of aluminum, the new Rolls-Royce electric model will still weigh 2,975 kg empty, so with everything on board the payload is approaching 3.4-3.5 tons!

The British also announced some main parameters of their new model. The maximum power will be 584 HP, and the torque is 900 Nm from the first moment. Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph is will be 4.4 seconds (0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds), and the promised autonomy in the WLTP cycle will be 320 miles or 520 km. The production of the new electric model will take place only in a year.
