Several drivers from the Czech Republic were surprised at the weekend by the presence of a car that appeared to be a Formula 1 car, which was driving alongside them on the same public highway, and at the wheel was a pilot with a helmet and all the usual motorsport equipment.
The vehicle is, in fact, a Dallara GP2/08, created for GP2 racing, also called Formula 2. However, it has dimensions and shape very close to the Formula 1 cars and, being produced between 2008 and 2010, it was powered by a 4.0-liter V8 engine, naturally aspirated, which developed about 620 HP, so a little less than the Formula 1 cars, but very close to them.
However, although the purchase for private collections of such cars is allowed, driving them on public roads is not allowed, which is why the police in the Czech Republic are now looking for the driver, noting that he risks a hefty fine and a one-year suspension of his driver's license . See below some video sequences, captured on the highway.
