Bentley is intensively preparing for a new era, in which its models will become electric, and that new one must come in a fascinating, consistent and overwhelming way to place Bentley on a hierarchical step as superior as it is perceived today. So Bentley is taking things step by step, thoroughly preparing for that era, and now has chosen to present the design of future electric models, but not on a concept of a first electric model, but on a current model, with an old-school W12 engine. This is the new Bentley Mulliner Batur, a model with current engineering, but with a design borrowed from the future, from future electric models.
We are talking, therefore, about a model that will be produced in a very limited series, of only 18 copies, and this because this design will be translated into reality through the manual work of Mulliner coachbuilders, who will stamp the parts according to traditional methods.
The propulsion system of this car will also be traditional, even if the design is borrowed from the future electric era. The Bentley Mulliner Batur will use the same legendary 6.0-liter W12 engine of the Volkswagen group, developed 20 years ago and perfected over the years. But those from Bentley are already officially announcing their fans — the W12 engine is about to enter its departure phase in history, and the current car benefits from one of its most mature forms, most likely the last one.
In its guise on the new Mulliner Batut, the engine will deliver more power and torque than ever before — 740 HP and 1,000 Nm of peak torque! And it does it thanks to two turbochargers and intercoolers.
It goes without saying that the passenger compartment is also perfect, where customers can pamper themselves by choosing the origin of the leather on the seats, and if desired, there can also be elements created from 18 karat gold.
All that being said, we probably won't be surprised to hear that such a Bentley costs 1.6 million pounds, without any tax included, so about 2 million euros and even more with all taxes. And all 18 copies have already been sold, even before the public announcement of this model.
